Buffet or Kitchen Island...you decide!

My wonderful hubby came across this buffet and picked it up for me...gotta love that man! I did like the original cream color but it needed some work. I love the wood detailing and the curve in the legs, kinda sexy huh? Also, I fell in love with the butcher block top! Perfect kitchen island if you ask me. I debated for a bit on painting the entire piece one color, then decided to leave the butcher block top alone, it's so neat. We all know how chalkboard paint can be your best friend...so what better than a place to display a menu of a place for the kids to color as you prep your meals! The beauty of this piece is the versatility, it can act as a buffet against a wall or pull it out and use it as an island...function plus. Now, do I put it in my fall sale or haul it down to my booth at Old Town Antiques??? So many decisions tonight! I have more projects to post, but I get so busy I forget to post, does that ever happen to you?

Lake's New/Old Desk

Lake (my son) asked if he could possibly have a desk in his room for a number of reasons. Well, of course you can....project for mom...LOVE IT!!! For his desk we used an old library table. This table has been with us for some time now, it's been an entertainment center, a wrapping center, a craft table and a sofa table. I think it's found a permanent home in our house. I am having so much fun finding things to add to this area for Lake. My mom had an old mini minnow bucket to use for crayons and pencils, I had an old wire paper basket and he had the lantern lamp. For the cork board I added a really old map of the lakes on the northern border to cover the cork. Perfect for him...he could fish for 12 hours a day! The tacks on the cork board are tiny cars, trucks, diggers, etc. He played with them forever and now he can have them for tacks. Above the desk is an old set of skis that my wonderful hubby stripped and stained. They make a great shelf for his treasures. I am working on a personalized chair for his desk today, he is loving it! Have a great Sunday, it's so beautiful out! Krista

I'm busy "SCRAPBUILDING"!

Ahhh, life is good when I'm scrapbuilding. I rescued this headboard from the dump, and then on to my scrap pile. I can build all day, I just love it. This bench will be in our Fall Sale. I have lots to build before then, so back to work. dana

Vintage cream can bouquet

I can honestly say that I love wild flowers!!! My kids and I decided to take a toot on the four wheeler yesterday and cut anything we thought was pretty and interesting. My cream can (that came from my late grandpa) was recently full of beautiful lupins. I do love it with the wild flowers as well. I think I'll have a little pine tree in it this winter. It's easy to take anything from around the garage or house and fill it up with seasonal blooms. I tucked a cute little birdie in a nest in that mess as well. My kids know I love to add little details so they found him right away! Have a great Wednesday everyone!
